Married since 1990, Rosalia and Cecil Touchon have been working together for 30 years. Cecil Touchon is primarily a collage artist. Over the years the Touchon's have developed a way to create paintings of some of these collages that both of them work on together. The well known 'Typographic Abstractions' that form the focus of Cecil Touchon's current body of work can be found in fine art galleries and important collections coast to coast and around the world.
However, both artists produce a wide ranging body of works that are not typically on view at the galleries and have decided to create this online gallery to provide access to otherwise unavailable images and create a range of high quality digital prints.
Our art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that we stand behind the quality and value of our works.

In addition to the studio, the Touchons also have been working over the years on Cecil Touchon's overarching art project: The International Museum of Collage, Assemblage and Construction The archives contains a sprawling collection of thousands of works of art. This website acts at a museum shop for prints of selected artworks in the collection to raise funds for the museum's programs and hopefully construct a building for the archives in the future.
Cecil's Inspirations come from his long standing interest is texts and mark making, the ephemeral qualities of paper and the evidence of time and mysterious histories that they suggest.
Cecil Touchon's art has been seen in magazines, on television, in the movies and even on the Paris fashion runways with Rei Kawakubo's Comme de Garcon.
Both Cecil and Rosalia Touchon work on paintings and collage art. Their techniques, even on the paintings, use paper as an underlayer to help simulate the surfaces of the paper collages used as compositional studies. The paintings work with the tension between the graphical sources they come from and the traditions of the painterly culture.
Rosalia studied art history and art restoration at Instituto Botticelli and brings this sensibility to her art making practices. Cecil studied art fresh out of high school in Saint Louis, MO at Saint Louis Community College in the mid 1970's and later at the University of Texas at Arlington.
The Touchons have run a successful art studio for thirty+ years and along the trail have created a restaurant in Colorado: Cafe Cuernavaca and a popular bed and breakfast in Rosalia's home town of Cuernavaca, Mexico called Casa del Artist.
